Beatrice has selected for you a list of partner cooperages around different vineyards. Discover the savoir-faire of the Bordeaux cooperages that contribute to the wine’s flavour profile.
The cooperage visits are only available on morning Wine Tours from Monday to Friday.
Started as a family business, the cooperage is used by all well renowned Chateaux and still plays a major role in the export market. Every year, this cooperage produces more than 33000 casks, or 120 casks a day.
The Nadalié cooperage opens its doors to let you discover its art and unveil the “trade secrets” of fabricating a cask. Through visiting the workshops, you will understand the essential role that wood plays in the aging of the wine and you will understand the savoir-faire practiced by the master coopers.
The Matillac Bordeaux cooperage, make their casks with the highest level of knowledge with sustainably sourced oak. They are also made using traditional crafting techniques.
